For participants

How do I get a login code?

You will receive the code automatically via SMS and email after you have registered and paid. If the organizer entered you manually, you will receive the code directly from them.

Does the app cost anything?

No, the app is completely free for participants. Download from the App Store or Google Play for free.

Can I participate in several competitions at the same time?

Yes. Log out and log in with the respective competition code to switch between them.

Does the app work without mobile coverage?

Yes. Reports are saved locally and sent automatically when you regain coverage. However, logging in requires a network.

Can I change a submitted report?

No, but the judge can adjust or comment. Contact the organizer if anything needs to be changed.

Can others see where I caught the fish?

No. All location data (GPS/EXIF) is automatically cleared from the images before they are published. Only judges can see the location if the organizer has chosen to collect it.

I don't want my report to be publicly visible - is that possible?

Yes, the organizer can hide individual reports if needed.

For organizers

How much does it cost to use Fishy Live?

The free level is free for up to 10 participants. Members of Sportfiskarna receive a discount. See full price list.

What scoring systems are supported?

Four scoring bases: length, weight, combined and species hunt. Also: species multipliers, Top Fish Count (only the top N fish count), daily limits, species limits and four different methods of distinguishing in case of equal points.

What is dark mode?

Dark mode hides the scoreboard from participants and spectators during the competition. Judges and organizers still see everything. When you're ready, reveal the score live - perfect for exciting prize distributions. The reveal requires two-step verification.

Can we manage sponsors in the system?

Yes. Five sponsorship levels (Title, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Partner) with logos on results pages, competition pages and sponsor sections. You control where each sponsor is visible. Approved capture images can also be automatically watermarked with your logo.

How does the referee tool work?

A web tool with sound notifications when new reports come in. Multiple judges can work in parallel from different locations. You can review high-resolution images, adjust dimensions, comment and approve or deny – the score is calculated automatically.

Can we send messages to participants?

Yes. SMS and email with filtering by class or individually. Save templates for recurring mailings. News updates sync directly to the app.

Is there support on weekends?

We know that most competitions are run outside of office hours. Although it is not a guaranteed part of the agreement, we always do our best to be available by phone or chat when you need help.

Can we copy settings from a previous competition?

Yes. The 'Copy Competition' function duplicates all settings, race rules, tickets, products and classes. Perfect for recurring events.

Technology and safety

How does the system protect against cheating?

Multiple layers: camera requirements (photos must be taken in the app), physical photo badges, GPS verification, timestamps, and automatic location data clearing. You choose which controls are active for your competition.

Why is Fishy Live an app and not a website?

An app provides better offline support, direct access to the camera (to prevent old images), precise GPS positioning, and push notifications, making the system more secure and streamlined than a web solution.

Who sees the participants' GPS location?

Only judges and organizers – if you have chosen to collect position. The position is never shared publicly. Fishy Tech staff has technical access for operation but no right to use or distribute the data.

Can photos from the gallery be used?

This is determined per competition. If you want to prevent old photos, you can require that photos be taken directly in the app – then gallery access will be blocked.
