Trout Open Norway
Rules (
Trout Open Norway
)You are allowed to fish in any water within Norway's borders, and the water shall be open to all via either a fishing license or through free fishing. You are only allowed to fish with one rod per person, spin fishing or fly fishing. You are only allowed to use artificial bait.
- • Competition period 01.12.24 to 30.03.25
• There are two classes to separate a little. One class for spin fishing and another class for ice fishing.
• Enrollment can take place during the entire period
• You can register at any time during the competition period, and registration takes place digitally via the competition page at www.fishy.nu. The fish must be reported no later than ONE DAY after the catch, and the deadline for reporting fish is 30.03.25 at 23:59!
The competition page is automatically updated on www.fishy.nu, and you can always follow who has the most centimeters.
Local fishing rules must be followed, read them when you fish and follow the rules.
The jury has the sole right to decide which fish is to be approved or not.
Juyren can also subtract centimeters when measuring incorrectly.
Registration and photography of fish
The trout must be photographed together with a measuring tool that makes it easy for the competition management to verify the given length. The entire measuring tool must be visible and clear, and must not lie on top of the fish. Photograph the fish with its head to the left of the picture. See more information below!
Registration takes place via the fishing app.
For a fish to be registered, the pictures must be clear and correctly taken.
ATTENTION! Re-catch can be reported, BUT ONLY ONCE and not if the fish is caught on the SAME DAY!
All fish MUST be photographed lying down in such a way that it is clearly visible that the snout is at zero, and that the tail fin is clear against the stated length. Otherwise, a deduction may be made. You should preferably use a measuring board with stops. Take many pictures, always with the head to the left of the picture. Also take a posing photo that can be used in the media / social media.
- • The fish can be held with one or, if necessary, two hands during measurement and documentation. It is not allowed to hold one hand on the tail fin or tip of the tail (2 cm deduction).
It is up to the participant to confirm that the measurement tool used is correct. Unflattering images are rejected, or an appropriate deduction in cm is made. Control of registered fish can be done several times during the competition, and corrections can be made if the jury deems it appropriate.
When the competition management approves the catch, it is registered and displayed on the website. Fiskeavisen.no reserves the right to use competition images to promote the competition in the media.
Rule changes may occur during the competition period if the organizers find reason for this.
Good luck in this year's Trout Open Norway!
The competition is organized by Fiskeavisen.no and Fri Media AS.
