Abbor NM 2022

Rules (Perch NM 2022)

REGULATIONS ABOR NM 2022

§1 Registration of catch

     • Only Perch applies in the competition. It is the sum of the 5 longest registered perches for each team that is the basis for the final result. Perch must be at least 30cm to be valid in the competition. There is also competition for the biggest fish (longest perch in the competition) as an individual sub-competition.
     • The catch must be documented by taking a picture of the fish on its right side on the distributed measuring board. The target board must lie flat. The fish's nose / snout should touch the edge at the 0cm point on the target board. The tail fin should lie straight and be carefully pinched in to show the "longest length" of the fish. Catch is measured in whole cm. The photo must clearly show the length of the fish and the participant number written on the target board.
     • Catch must be documented through the App Fishy Live which you can download via either Google Play or App Store. Remember to download this App before the competition. Use the 8-digit code that you received via email after paying for registration when you install the App.
     • It is mandatory to have at least 1 picture of the fish on the target board. Posing image is optional unless you wish to register the fish in the «biggest fish» competition, of which measuring board + posing image is mandatory.
     • Registration opens at 10:00 a.m. and is open until 4:00 p.m. After 16:00 it will no longer be possible to register fish.
     • Catches that you wish to register must be registered continuously. That is, as soon as the fish is caught, it must be documented and registered via the Fishy Live App.
     • It is not allowed to store fish temporarily in a live-well, keepnet or similar, cf. Section 37, subsection 6 of the Salmon and Inland Fisheries Act.
     • Fish can be kept in nets for the necessary seconds it takes to prepare for documentation.
       •  NB it is not allowed to keep the fish in the net while fishing.

     • Catch registrations will be reviewed by jury. The jury is free to adjust the recorded length and possibly reject the reported catch.

§2 Rules for fishing

     • You are only allowed to fish with one rod per participant at a time. You are only allowed to fish with one set of hooks at a time. This means that you are not allowed to fish with e.g. a dropshot jig over a regular jig or similar. Wobblers, poppers, jerkbaits etc. that are equipped with several hooks from the factory are allowed.
     • You are only allowed to practice so-called «spin fishing». That is, active fishing with artificial bait with reels or casting rods and reels. Other methods such as worm fishing, dorging / trolling, fly fishing etc. are not allowed. So-called "vertical fishing" with artificial bait can be practiced, but here it is important to specify that you must still comply with the rule about "static spin fishing" as described in §2 point 3
     • The boat must be anchored via either the anchor function on the front engine or with a physical anchor when fishing, including referred to as «static spin fishing». For a more detailed review of this rule, see VIDEO (English)
All boats must therefore be equipped with a working front engine with anchor function or physical anchor
       •  NB: this is a change from previous competitions where the rules have been as follows: «You are only allowed to fish actively from a stationary boat or during slow operation <1 knot»

     • Due to a smaller competition lake, your maximum speed was set to 30 knots in this year's competition.
       •  Obvious violation of this point will result in direct disqualification.

     • When traveling in Kragtorpvika, there is a speed limit of 5 knots (nature reserve).
       •  See MAP for nature reserve area

     • During the competition, there is a distance restriction of 30 meters to the nearest competing boat that is fishing. This applies anyway and you are not allowed to give other boats permission to fish closer than 30 meters. You can, however, give permission to pass closer than 30 meters.
       •  NB: this is a change from previous competitions where the distance was 40 meters. The reason for the adjustment is so that boats that want to pass other boats that are standing and fishing will not have to take as large detours.

     • Perches larger than 40cm shells are put back. If you get a bycatch of pike, pike over 70cm must be put back.

§3 General rules

     • Each team must consist of a minimum and a maximum of 2 people. Extra people are not allowed in the boat, even if they are not fishing. It is not allowed to stand alone (1 person), this for security reasons.
     • All participating teams must have completed registration and payment HERE by Wednesday 24.08.2022 and downloaded the Fishy App for catch registration before the start of the competition.
     • All teams must have launched the boat and reported their arrival via the Fishy App and at the secretariat before 09:00, Sunday 28.08.2022
       •  The measuring board is handed out at the secretariat
       •  NB: Teams that do not manage to set out the boat and report their arrival by 09:00 will have a delayed start. At 10:45 at the earliest

     • There is an upper speed limit of 5 knots during the first 60 seconds after the start signal.
     • Approved life jackets or flotation devices are required for all participants.
       •  A vest or flotation device can be taken off when the boat is at rest, but a shell is used when the boat is in motion.

     • Saturday 27.08 your rest day.
       •  Participants are not allowed to practice test fishing, nor logging of the water
       •  It is recommended to have the boat anchored along the shore on this day
