Report from the competition management in the Swedish Perch Tournament, the last part of the competition was decided this weekend and now there is a final result in the SPT!
- Last Saturday, the fourth and final competition in the Swedish Perch Tournament 2021 took place. The competition was decided in Aronsborg with Mälaren as the competition water and the host store for the competition was Stockholms fiske.
All sub-competitions in the Swedish Perch Tournament are included in the Swedish Perch League's national ranking system. All sub-competitions are qualifiers for the WC in perch 2022, which is organized by Sportfiskarna.
For the competition, 25 expectant teams had gathered to compete for the podium positions in the year's last sub-competition. The morning's weather was overcast and the rain hung in the air, it didn't matter because the teams were focused on delivering good results. Already after 45 minutes, Team Tidofishing had taken an early lead, as they had managed to crack the code and caught 5 approved with a total length of 163cm. At lunch, Team Högvarv had really made a move in the table and reported a phenomenal 212cm. Closest chasing were Team DLS/Echo Marine (183cm) and Team Nickvalla (181cm). Really exciting at the top of the table, where Team DLS /Echo Marine led the entire tour ahead of today's competition just ahead of Team Högvarv/Millerod.
During the tour's last two hours of darkness, a lot happened, several of the teams managed to report in the majority of fish over 40 cm. It would turn out that Team Högvarv/Millerod would hold off and extend their lead. Team Tidofishing managed with a great last push to win second place ahead of team Predator in third place.
The result for the team was as follows:
1) Team Högvarv/Millerod, 220cm
2) Team Tidofishing, 191cm
3) Team Predator, 190cm
The longest fish of the day was caught by Niklas Pettersson from Team Högvarv/Millerod. It was measured to a nice 46cm. We want to say a big congratulations to Niklas who wins a nice package from Berkley for the "Longest Catch of the Day".
We would like to thank Stockholmsfiske in Bålsta, which was the host shop, all partners and of course all the participants who participated in the fourth part of the Swedish Perch Tournament 2021.
As this was the fourth and last sub-competition in this year's Swedish Perch Tournament 2021, it meant that we would get to choose this year's winner. With solid fishing right through the tour with first places in the last two competitions, we can finally congratulate Team Högvarv/Millerod as winners for the second year in a row of the Swedish Perch Tournament!
The top five positions look as follows:
1) Team Högvarv/Millerod, 53 points
2) Team DLS / Echo Marine, 48 points
3) Team Predator, 41 points
4) Team Tidofishing, 38 points
5) Team AnTo Fishing, 35 points
