Then two days of pike battle were over in Lycksele, the Nordic River Pike Open is decided! The fishing has been difficult at times but with moments of really active cutting periods! Over twenty teams battled for victory in the first of hopefully many River Pike Open in Lycksele!
On day one, Team En Ständig Besvikelse took hold of the competition quite soon with a somewhat incredible fish in a competitive context. A pike of 121 cm and 13050 grams and when the day was over, the team could count a total of 460 cm on five fish, which was enough for a good lead.
Day two opened really strong! When the clock approached 10 o'clock we had eleven approved fish and reports said that the fishing was quite good but that many under the minimum measurement of 80 cm were on the hook. At 12 o'clock the competition's first blackout period occurred. Just minutes later, Team Gäddfighten reported a nice 98, at 12:43 the competition's second megafish arrived!
A pike of 116 cm, also Team Gäddfighten! With that fish and a total of 496 cm, the brothers Fredrik and Christoffer Sundkvist secured the victory!
In second place came Team A constant disappointment, Mattias Bertheim, Daniel Bäckström, Emil Westerlund who fished a total of 468 cm on five fish. With a 121:ai in your luggage, you can only end up at the top!
In third place we find Team Riverside, Tobias Gideonsson, Daniel Åkebrand and Johnny Ågran. A total of five fish of 468 cm! The entire award ceremony was broadcast live on FB, watch it here!
A big thank you to Daniel Robertsson and Linus Mörtzell, Nordic Freshwater Experience, what a great arrangement! The competition was administered via the Fishy Live app! All results and pictures are available at Fishy.nu!
