Then this year's Swedish Perch Open was over! A competition that since its inception has attracted some of Sweden's most dedicated perch anglers and with unparalleled results!
From December to October we have had the privilege of recording many big perch really big perch, a total of thirty-four perch of 50 cm or longer have been caught! The longest fish of the year went to Daniel Hedlund and was a magnificent piece of 53 cm, also from a lake.
This year's winner and for the third year in a row was Torbjörn "Tobbe" Larsson in the picture above! With a magnificent suite of perches of a total of 505 cm spread over 52, 51, 51, 51, 50, 50, 50, 50, 50 and 50 cm he is again number one and actually probably number one in Sweden! Who has a better suite this year? The only one who managed to challenge Tobbe was Daniel Hedlund who for just a few days took over the lead after months of dominance from Tobbe.
On Tuesday this week Tobbe reported two new fish, 51 and 50 cm, and to be on the safe side he reported another fish of 50 cm on Wednesday and with that it was clear that Tobbe once again took place no. 1. Incredibly good fishing . So, big congratulations Tobbe Larsson, you have once again proven that you are one of Sweden's most dedicated and skilled perch fishermen! Well done!
In second place came Daniel Hedlund above, whose results should have stood for a first place in most competitions but not this one. In total, Daniel fished a fantastic 502 cm with the suite 53, 52, 52, 50, 50, 49, 49, 49, 49 and 49 cm. Excellent fishing!
In third place we find a guy who really fought and who stayed in the top five throughout the competition and for a period was second. Big congratulations to third place Mattias Arvidsson who fished a total of 499 cm spread over 51, 51, 51, 50, 50, 50, 49, 49, 49 and 49 cm.
